Regina Russell has been a great help to the Hemphill County Sheriff Office. She was able to provide us with information needed to help with many cases.

We appreciate her help.

On Friday, 01-31-2003, at approximately 3:00 pm, the Sheriff’s Office was notified of an accident 15 miles South of Canadian on Hwy 83.  When we arrived, we found Larry Franks and Shane Spencer on the scene with the driver of the vehicle.  The driver was intoxicated and became very combative, An arrest had to be made. Mr. Franks and Mr. Spencer were invaluable to the Sheriff’s Office in affecting this arrest.  They willingly assisted Hemphill Deputies Doug Tennant and Katie Gerhardt, and DPS Trooper Toby Zalman in taking this subject into custody and getting him in a car for transport.  Mr. Spencer then rode in the vehicle with the transporting officer to assist in the event of further problems in transporting the prisoner to the jail.
